I’m Nick Jepson, Hallsworth Research Fellow in Chinese political economy at the University of Manchester’s Global Development Institute. I study the rise of China and its impact on the rest of the global political economy. My current research project looks at bilateral Chinese loans to other governments and what happens when borrowing countries struggle to pay them back. You can find out more here.
